Welcome! In this area of my site, I post items of note and/or interest and sometimes just from just plain ecstatic exuberance - such as the announcement of winning a photographic Award or Honor. Hopefully over time there will be lots of entries here. I'm trying my little heart out!!!
I met so many wonderful people - Photography Gallery and Photography Museum owners - and great professional photographers throughout the actual four day event. Overall, my work "One Exposure" garnered reactions such as 'peaceful', 'serene', 'evoking a great sense of warmth and calmness', 'reminiscent of many a beach visit' and a 'pleasure to view'. I received many valuable suggestions as to which markets should embrace my work. I am excited to pursue them over the next days and weeks to come. What an unbelievable experience.
Getting on a jet plane Wednesday, Sep 24 and heading for Chicago. I am taking my most recent body of work titled "One Exposure". Please see this folio on my home page under "Portfolios". Planning on meeting with several nationally known and recognized Photography Gallerists, Museum Curators, Photo Editors and Book Publishers. These 'Portfolio Reviews' are held at various times around this country and in Europe every year. Participants (yours truly) sign up for face-to-face reviews and receive candid advice about their work, as well as information on getting their photographs exhibited in galleries and museums and/or published. What a phenomenal way to make the process of showing one's art to gallerists so much easier than flying to separate cities around the country for individual meetings. This is going to be great fun!
Palm Beach photographic Centre - After a year away from this event, I won a spot in their annual exhibition with two of my images. This is always a great international competition and I'm proud to have my work recognized again.
Great news - One of my Architectural Fine Art images won a Silver Award in the 9th Annual Px3. The "Prix de la Photographie, Paris" (Px3) strives to promote the appreciation of photography, to discover emerging talent and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris.
April 18, 2015: Four of my Fine Art Photography images have received Nominee Awards in the 8th Annual International Color Awards Show. ICA is the leading international award honouring excellence in color photography. This celebrated event shines a spotlight on the best professional and amateur photographers worldwide and honors the finest images with the highest achievements in color photography.
The Jury represented the industry's biggest names and tastemakers including Christie's, Paris; Frieze Art Fair, London; DB Agency, Milan; Clair Gallerie, Munich; Edinburg Film Festival; Art Beatus Gallery, Hong Kong; Gup Magazine, Amsterdam; and Eyestorm, London.
Of the total of over 7000 images submitted from over 75 countries, my work received a high percentage of votes overall. Please go to my Awards Gallery to see the winning images.
